Family holidays Holidays with the kids can be the most rewarding experience, especially when they are old enough to appreciate the wonders of nature. We have found that as there is so much variety in each days activity, that children rarely get bored.
An aspect of the holiday that is often overlooked is the shared learning experience. Both parents and children can explore together. There is a whole wonderland of nature to discover, ranging from bush walking, following in the tracks of Captain Cook on un-inhabited Islands, to fossickling on beaches and drying reefs where the interaction of marine life encountered is a fascination for people of all ages. Snorkelling over colourful coral reefs together with hundreds of friendly fish is a most rewarding experience and whole families can learn from the huge reference library aboard featuring all the marine life of our eightth wonder of the world.
There are, of course, times when parents just want to relax. The silica white sands of magnificent beaches provide an ideal opportunity while children happily amuse themselves spending hours building sandcastles or playing on the shoreline. Parents will, however, be aware that their children are their responsibility at all times, even though the wonder of the Whitsundays provides the ultimate in relaxation and enjoyment.

Kids on holiday Our policy is that, when welcoming families aboard, the family must charter the whole yacht - it would be unfair to ask others to appreciate your loved ones (as you do). The charter rate is, therefore, the sum of the individual cabin prices, however there are significant discounts that recognise the family aspect of the holiday. Contact us for details.

The shared fun and enjoyment, can truly be appreciated in the words of one of our latest guests:

Dear Lynne and John,
Just a note to thank you both for a wonderful holiday on board "Sydney Sundancer". It will truly go down in the "very special memory book" for ALL of us ! There's no doubt that before embarking on this adventure we were uncertain as to how 5 adults and 7 children living in "close quarters" would work out. Perhaps you and John had the same concerns! Well - our photographs tell it all. Every single person is positively beaming in every single photograph.

It really was the most wonderfully happy and relaxing holiday that I've ever had. And what made it so special was the fact that we ALL enjoyed it, from young to old. I don't remember a cross word being said. Quite remarkable really, but I know that is because everyone was so well occupied. There was always something for everyone to enjoy.
We are all still talking about it and several other families have already asked if they can join us next time !

Highlights of the trip?

  • Snorkelling in the crystal clear waters and especially meeting "Fat Albert"* and his missus.
  • Seeing the wonders of the reef, and the magnificent coral gardens.
  • Playing games on the white sands of Whitehaven.
  • Patting the turtles on the reef walk.
  • Spotting whales.
  • Champagne brunches - every day! With the kids doing the dishes !
  • Relaxing under a gentle breeze with a good book while the kids played cards !
  • Being gently rocked to sleep at night after a few good reds.
And the list could go on.

Thank you once again. We are already planning the next one so I'll be in touch.
    Fond wishes,
Willie. (on behalf of the Simmonds, Wellingham and Harrison families)
